Jesus can't be God. God cannot have a son?
Christians do not believe that Jesus is literally God’s Son in the sense that God and Mary had intercourse and Jesus was the product, as suggested by Surah 72:3. The idea of Jesus being God’s Son is an analogy and every analogy has inherent incongruencies.
“Son” is used metaphorically to describes spiritual relationship. “Father” and “Son” is taken as the latter being generated from the former, but instead it is meant to communicate ideas of sameness of nature, intimacy and uniqueness, not in every way a Father and Son relate. Just as the Qur’anic phrase “son of the road” means “traveler,” waibni alssabeeli. (4:36), (and not that two roads got together for intercourse) so ”son of God” doesn’t imply intercourse.
